Murieston Community Cinema

Murieston Community Cinema is a community film group run by Murieston Community Development Trust in Murieston Village Hall. We’ll be showing a mix of occasional children’s films and regular monthly films for an older audience. Events will be advertised on the Murieston Community Cinema Facebook page.

Our occasional afternoon films are intended for families. All films are rated PG or U. All films will be British/independent films. Come as a family or a supervised group. We will be surveying attendees to understand which films have been a success and satisfy our funders. Intended Future Dates: 30th November, 28th December.

On November 30th at 2pm we running a craft session with a guest artist before showing Matilda the Musical. An adaptation of the Tony and Olivier award-winning musical, Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand to change her story with miraculous results.

This big-screen event is part of the West Lothian Community Cinema Network, run by Generation Arts.  We are supported by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI Audience Network, and funded by Screen Scotland and National Lottery Funding from BFI.

On November 30th at 7pm, will be showing The Salt Path. A couple lose their home and later discover the husband has been diagnosed with a terminal illness as they embark on a year long coastal trek. Come early for a good gossip!

Refreshments and a chat from 6:30pm. Teas and coffees available to purchase or BYOB.

All films will be British/independent films, which are intended to be thought-provoking. Prepare to laugh, prepare to cry, and prepare to be challenged at times. We will be surveying attendees to understand which films have been a success and satisfy our funders.

We hope you will come for a drink and a chat from 6:30pm and have fun meeting other film-lovers in the community. Teas and coffees available to purchase or BYOB. Bring your own cushion too if you want a comfier seat. Some attendees even bring their own comfy camping chair!
